Một hôm, con thỏ chê con rùa chậm chạp.

One day, the hare made fun of the tortoise for being slow.

Rùa nói: chúng ta thi chạy xem ai đến đích trước nhé.

The tortoise said: let's race and see who reaches the finish first.

Thỏ chạy rất nhanh và bỏ rùa lại phía sau.

The hare ran very fast and left the tortoise far behind.

Thấy mình thắng chắc rồi, thỏ nằm xuống ngủ dưới gốc cây.

Sure of winning, the hare lay down to sleep under a tree.

Rùa vẫn đi từng bước, không dừng lại.

The tortoise kept walking step by step without stopping.

Khi thỏ tỉnh dậy, rùa đã gần tới đích. Thỏ chạy theo nhưng đã muộn.

When the hare woke up, the tortoise was almost at the finish. He ran after her, but it was too late.

Bài học: chậm mà chắc còn hơn nhanh mà chủ quan.

The lesson: slow and steady beats fast and careless.
